We process personal data only where necessary to provide a functioning website and our services, or where you have given consent. Processing takes place on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), to perform or prepare a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to comply with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), or on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), for example in the secure and efficient operation of this website.
When you access our website, our hosting provider automatically collects technical connection data (including IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, browser used) to provide the website technically and ensure system security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not combined with other data sources and is deleted once it is no longer needed for these purposes.
When you contact us via the contact form, the quote form (/quote/), or by email, we process the data you provide (including name, email address, optional phone number, message content and project details such as language pair or subject area) to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). If you select a file to upload as part of an enquiry, only the file’s metadata (filename, size, file type) is technically captured — the file itself is never transmitted or stored. After you submit the form, we email you to request the file separately, quoting your reference number.
To process an order, we process your name, email address, phone number, and — where applicable — company name and EU VAT ID, plus your postal address if you select postal delivery, in each case to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The payment step of checkout currently runs in demo mode: no real payment data is collected, transmitted or stored.
We use cookies on this website. Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Non-essential cookies — particularly for analytics — are used only with your prior, explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25 TTDSG). Where you have given consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies or comparable technologies that allow analysis of your use of our website. Your IP address is anonymised/truncated before transmission, ruling out a direct personal reference wherever technically possible. No advertising ("Ads") signals are enabled. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The service is only loaded after you consent — no data is transmitted to Google before you make a choice in the cookie banner. We share personal data only where necessary to perform a contract (for example with our hosting provider, acting as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR) or where you have consented (for example Google Analytics, see clause 7). Appropriate Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreements are in place, or will be put in place, with all processors. Data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA only within the scope of the services named above, and only where an adequate level of data protection is ensured (for example via Standard Contractual Clauses).
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, or as required by a statutory retention obligation (for example under German commercial or tax law). Enquiry and contact data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully handled and no retention obligation remains. On request, we will tell you the specific retention period for your data and delete it on request, unless a legal obligation prevents this.
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). Any consent given can be withdrawn at any time with future effect (Art. 7(3) GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, such as the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, the authority responsible for our place of business in Frankfurt am Main.
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
